In a season that has seen ever increasing numbers of players leave to join EPPP academy teams, Bristol City have signed the talented U15 duo Opanin Edwards & James Morton.
Both players have been guided by our influential coach Chris Palmer and supported by Manager Darren Staples with crucial assistance of Paul Fudgell.
Both players played a big part in our successful summer success at the Bolton International Super Cup, where both players put in academy quality performances at EPPP category 1 club Bolton Wanders in the semi-final.
Opi is well known for his turn of pace and ability to make things happen and James game is all about being the play maker with both players receiving glowing feedback from former Bristol City player and Academy Manager Brian Tinnion, who recently went on record saying that both boys put in MOM performances in a recent 5-1 victory over Chelsea. Proving that both are more than capable addition to the U15 squad, and not there just to make up the numbers. With another four BIC U15 players currently being on trial with decisions imminent it proves again that our players are getting the right environment, information and support to develop.
We should also mention that five Bristol Inner City U8 players have been training at Bristol City all season and should know shortly if they will be signed in the very near future.
Again it proves that development is long term, with the importance of allowing players the necessary time to develop being crucial. Bristol City & BIC analogy “Not before their time”, no purpose being served to the player, BIC or pro club academy by adopting a “Hit or Miss” approach.
Due to our continuous success we are always looking for potentially & talented players to join our player pools across all age groups (U5-U18).
